Family in Town

We had a lot of family in town this weekend which was fun. Yea, finally Auntie Shayla got to meet her niece Anna. Shayla loves children and was dying to get to hold Anna finally.

Anna even got to meet her 2nd cousin twin, Hadley, who is 10 days older than her. They had a battle of the tummy time together and a couple play dates.

My mom even came into town and got to hang out with her brother, Khyl, while they both held their new little grandchildren.

Over 40 of Grandma and Grandad's children, grandchildren, and greats, got together this weekend here in Arizona for some special events; endowments, baptisms, and blessings. I am so grateful I have such a wonderful family who has the gospel in their lives.

Happy Father's Day

My father was amazing. The best dad I could have asked for. He taught us by his example. I remember him playing hot box with us in the front yard and taking us on camping trips. He made sure we had family scripture study every morning and family prayers morning and night. I remember one family home evening when he had us all pretend like we were walking up to greet him and shake his hand. He made sure we all knew how to give a good handshake and good greeting. This is a pic of me and my dad.
My husband is also an amazing father. He watches Anna when I work, plays with her, bathes her and even makes her laugh. I remember him coming home from the library one day with a bunch of kid books and I asked him what they were for. He said "to read to Anna of course." I am grateful for the wonderful father's in my life.

The Amazing Aunt Teresa

So I have this aunt who is pretty amazing, her name is aunt Teresa. Though she has no grandchildren of her own, she is trying to get a lot of practice with all the children of her nieces and nephews. Yep, she is amazing.

3 Months Old

Anna turned 3 months old on Sunday! Yea; we are done with the "4th trimester," done with the challenging newborn stage. Now she is attentive and interactive. She laughs, and is learning to grab things and hold things, she smiles and coos. She can support her body a little better. She is a cute, silly, little munchkin.

Her hair still looks like a old man's though.
She watches whatever we do.
Check out the thigh rolls! She likes to put everything in her mouth now. Especially her hands and likes her toys a whole lot more now.
She is a funny little girl and has to be with people. If we are in the kitchen she has to be in the kitchen, if we are hanging out in the living room she must be hanging out there too.
This picture is a snapshot into our lives. This is a temporary swing made with blanket and clothes pins Kent rigged up while we washed her swing cover after a major blow out. We also use the poles of her swing to hang toys she can play with when we put her on her back. And you can see on the little table is all the Dr. Suess and other kid books we checked out of the library to read to Anna. She keeps us busy.

The Day I Forgot my Diaper Bag

I had just realized that I had left my diaper bag at home as I walked into target with Anna. "Oh well," I thought,"I will just be here for a few minutes;" Bad Idea! Five minutes later in the middle of the house ware isle Anna started coughing so I picked her up pat her back. She coughed again and that triggered the gagging effect. Oh no, I saw it coming, Anna opened her mouth and from thence came out all the the milk she had just eaten. It was like slow motion, the vomit came out of her mouth and landed all over her onesie, all over my shirt, poured all over my arm, into and on my purse, and all over the floor, and this was no small amount! We were both covered with white milky smelly vomit with no diaper bag rags or anything to clean up with in the middle of Target. Yep, as I headed out I got a lot of strange looks, baby and I all covered with grossness.
