The Uncoordinated Scoot Plop

So Anna decided she was tired of lying there and wanted to get around. She is still a bit uncoordinated but she gets where she is going.

First Bite of Food

Seeing as Anna is almost 6 months old we decided to introduce her to food today. This was her reaction to her first bite of rice cereal. At first she had no idea what was going on or how to react, then she spit it all out, then as we came near her with another bite on the spoon she made a disgusted face and hit it away. In short, she hated it and we will try again tomorrow.

Back to Utah

Packing our bags to leave. We first stayed with Maria and Joel and ate Pizza puffs with them along with playing a couple of rousing games of Settlers of Catan.

Elizabeth graduated from BYU. And Brigham and Elizabeth met Anna for the first time. As Brigham holds Anna he thinks of holding his future baby Benjamin. As you can see, Anna sure was excited (she really was, though her face in this picture doesn’t show it).

We went to South Fork Park for the graduation celebration and had a picnic with Elizabeth’s family and played a great game of ultimate Frisbee. My dad loved playing with Anna.

Everyone was together;sure missed Gabe and Jane Ann. Anna almost got kissed to death by everyone.

Yeah! We met up at the Alta lounge with a bunch of our old friends and roommates. The next day, we went up to Salt Lake, and Anna finally got to meet her 1st cousins Lauren and Lonna.

We hung out with Tim and Lyndi’s family at the park. Brother’s were discussing brotherly things.

We loved staying with Brigham and Elizabeth at Y mount. Shayla took Anna to the playground there.

Our trip was filled with funny faces!

The Fosson clan all went up to Payson Lakes to go camping. We went on hikes and ate s’mores.

We told stories that night around the campfire. Anna learned what a jacket is.

We all tried to skip rocks as good as Kent. Brigham was looking for the perfect rock. We met up with Lauren, Stef, and Mark and their kids and got to meet little new born Rocco.

And of course, we had to hike Squaw Peak with Brigham and Elizabeth and Anna was the best hiker on the trail.

Can you tell by this face how Anna felt about her car seat by the end of the trip?

Getting Around

Anna is getting around these days. She rolls to all parts of the house. We find her under chairs and the next minute across the room.

Her favorite though is hanging out with daddy as he makes dinner.

The Wet Ward Camp Out

We knew it would be raining July 30th a few months ago- why? Because we planned on camping that day. We have a curse; it rains on us every time we go camping; I am not kidding! We decided to go anyway, seeing that Kent was in charge of this ward camp out. It was Anna's first camp out too!

We got there at set up our tent on a pile of ants. But it was OK, because the rain washed them away.

Went wading in the creek as the storm clouds rolled in.

Anna loved splashing in the warm Arizona creek water and even helped us find firewood for the campfire.
Anna content as ever in her pack and play, out of the rain, enjoying the smells of the campfire and being in the outdoors.
This is Kent trying to make pancakes for the ward on a cookie sheet, which he discovered did not work very well, and reverted to a frying pan. They were very delicious!

We camped at Clear Creek, near Sedona and had a good ward turn out. Hot dogs and S'mores that evening and a campfire program. When we retired to the tent it was soooo hot and humid inside, our sweaty skin stuck to the outside of our nylon material sleeping bags. Gross!! Not to mention And Kent and I were squished to one half of the 3 man tent as Anna's pack and play took up the other half. It rained most of the night and due to the fact that we were so squished, and Kent is foot longer then the length of the tent, we were touching the walls of the tent which allowed the water to come in. Yep, that morning pretty much every thing was wet except Anna in her pack and play. She slept great. Though we discovered she was wet too because her diaper leaked. It rained through the morning. We ate a delicious breakfast Kent cooked up with Derek from the elder's quorum; bacon, eggs and pancakes. Kids were running everywhere in the rain enjoying life. Adults stayed under the cover enjoying each others company. After a while everyone in the ward gave up waiting for the rain to let up and took their tents down in the rain. We dumped over a gallon of water out of our tent while packing up. It was a fun wet trip like always.
