The unknown rule of pregnancy

So, I guess there is a rule out there...I have never heard of this rule before, but everybody else obviously knows about this rule except me...that you aren't supposed to do flips off the diving board when you are pregnant.

After doing a flip off the diving board the other day and huring my upper back/neck a little, I have been kindly informed about this rule by many people.

They ask how I hurt my back and I say, "I did a flip off the diving board." And every time I get the same look or expression of disbelief and horror. Then they say, "I can't believe it, you should know you aren't supposed to do flips off the diving board when you are pregnant."

I really did not know this rule. I am not even showing yet either.

Anyway, to inform any other unknowing people out there: There is a rule that you are not suppossed to do flips off the diving board when you are pregnant.

  1. Hahahah, you crack me up, Dayna! I can so see you not wanting to let a little thing like "pregnancy" stand in the way of some good flipping action. Thanks for the info -- I will keep it in mind for down the road. :)

  2. I think it goes along that "no roller coasters or water slides rule". You have to be careful silly!

  3. HA!!! Not that I could do a flip off the diving board but I didn't know that rule either. Are you going to find out the gender? How are you feeling??

  4. Dayna, the funny thing about this post is that you were trying to do flips off of the diving board! I'm sure that if you tried to do a myriad of other extreme sports, you would find many more rules (no sky diving for example) that most people don't feel like they need to pass around. I died laughing when I read your post. Thanks for the update, and I can't wait to see your baby at the olympics. S/he probably has a bit of a head start on all of the other contenders, who had to wait to be born before they started doing gymnastics.
