Precious Running Water

I had just turned on the water to wash the breakfast dishes, and all of a sudden it stopped flowing. "What!!! NO!!!! Kent, doesn't the notice say the water will be shut off all day tomorrow?" Well it did, and the paper was wrong!!!! I had the water shut off to my place all day today with no warning and hadn't even showered yet. I never knew how much I appreciated and took for granted running water. I can't believe how much I depend on it. The little pile of laundry I was going to do this morning, didn't get done. Didn't get a shower today. Dishes piled up in the sink. It is just lucky that Kent and I decided to get together a little emergency water supply of multiple 2 liter bottles a few weeks ago because with that I washed my hands, flushed the toilet, cooked, and drank. I went through about 5 bottles full of water. It is really hard to hold a wiggly girl over the sink and at the same time pour water from a 2 liter bottle over her hands and arms and scrub them to get the orange stickiness off. All I can say is I am very grateful for running water and I know I need to store a lot more for emergencies.

Helping Unload

Anna likes to help her pregnant mother unload the dishwasher; so kind. Ya, it takes twice as long, but what doesn't with a toddler. I do appreciate not having to bend down, she is just the right height.

Our Soccer Play'n, Dandelion Pick'n Girl

She is becoming quite the dribbler. Our favorite part is where she is cruising along with the soccer ball and then has to stop to do her favorite past time, pick the one dandelion in the field.

A few people have commented to me that Anna looks very serious according to the blog pictures. To reassure those out there here a a few pictures I captured of Anna smiling. It was very hard to do because whenever she sees the camera she stops smiling and tries to take the camera from me. It took skill to get these I am telling you, I really had to do some crazy dances and make all sorts of faces to capture it. She really is a happy smiley girl for the most part.

St. Patricks Day, a Gathering at the park, and a Ride in the T-bird

For St. Patrick’s Day I made some green clover pancakes and some green eggs for breakfast. Anna and I dressed in green for good luck. Kent refused to dress in green, dressing only in blue, claiming to be a true supporter and fan of his BYU basketball team who were playing their March madness game that day. Ha!!

Yesterday we had a family get together at the park with most of my cousins and family in the area. We had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Once Anna picked up one, then two eggs and loved shaking them for the cool sound. When she spotted a third egg she did not know what to do, her hands being full. It was funny watching her try to figure out how to hold three eggs at the same time putting down one and picking up the other.  Granddad drove up to the park in style, in his classic T-bird. I could not pass up the chance to ride home with him. Pretty awesome car!

Anna’s 1st Birthday

Anna’s 1st birthday was such a nice day, especially because my parents came into town for the weekend to help us celebrate. In the morning Anna woke up to her birthday balloon, and after church we headed to my grandmother’s house for a St. Patrick's day dinner and Anna girl’s little birthday party. Anna got to go outside for awhile to pick dandy lions in the grass and in the mean time she turned into Cinderella, loosing her slipper. My mom, grandmother, Anna and I also took a 4 generation picture.

Later in the afternoon Anna opened presents. She was really spoiled by my parents, being the only grandchild, who even got her a little push popper, some cute clothes, and a new book amongst other things.

Cake was next. I made a German chocolate pudding cake with whipped cream topping because I do not like dry cake and second I think regular frosting is kind of gross. So it was moist and tasty. Anna however liked smearing it and playing with it more than she enjoyed eating it. It was fun watching her go at it. Kent's family, up in North Dakota even skyped in to watch the fun.

The whole weekend her grandparents held her, read to her, and played with her; lucky girl. They even babysat her one evening after the organ stop and sent Kent and I out to see a movie, Narnia, for our 2nd anniversary which was nice of them.

Happy Birthday Anna girl. You are very loved by many people. We are glad to have you in our lives. You are such a darling and a joy to have around even if you will only look very serious in all you pictures.

Random things

Anna loves to read her books, even if they are upside down. She turns the pages and looks at the pictures. We try to read to her every day and want to instill in her a love of reading. Anna, loves her bath time too. Especially splashing around in the water.

When I get home from work, Kent still dresses Anna up in fun poses. Anna is so funny, as soon as I walk in the door from work she always starts crying I think because she realizes she missed me. Since my scrub top may not be so clean I either have to take my scrub top off really quick and pick her up or hurry and jump into the shower. Kent also got a used bike to ride the 3 miles to campus which he is excited about.

Anna recently learned how to turn on and off her dad’s computer. Oh no. She has been scolded several times for doing so.  But she likes to sit on her daddy’s lap and watch what he is doing. We are also transitioning her over to whole milk now instead of formula as she is turning 1 years old this week. We can’t let her with the bottle alone because she always pops the nipple in and dumps out the milk.

Anna has recently found an interest in baby dolls. For the last few weeks she has been carrying her baby doll around everywhere she goes along with a little purse I gave her. She used to care less about dolls but now is turning into a little mama in preparation for her little sister to come.

I myself am now 31 weeks pregnant and have 2 more months to go. I am to the uncomfortable stage. I can feel the little girl kicking and moving about in there and getting hiccups now and then. I am still working the two days at the hospital; it has been a crazy RSV season this year with the kiddos. Kent is still continually busy with is doctorate program and work and watching Anna two days a week. Ok, a pregnant pic for all those asking (this is when I was 6 months pregnant.)
